Envision signs Kara-Lis Coverdale for Canada (Where You Came From)
NEW SINGLE + ALBUM OUT MAY 09 2025
Today, acclaimed Canadian composer, musician, and sound artist Kara-Lis Coverdale announces her return with a new album, From Where You Came, on May 9, 2025 via Envision Records (Canada) and Smalltown Supersound (ROW). The release marks her first major solo work since 2017’s Grafts and other groundbreaking records Aftertouches and A 480. Ahead of the album, Coverdale shares its first single, “Daze,” an immersive and energetic instrumental that embodies the meditative, atmospheric, and deeply textural soundscapes for which she is known, but with a great sense of lived experience, adventure, and driving strength that is a new expression from the artist.
The first offering from From Where You Came, “Daze” is a delicate yet powerful movement of sound that unfolds symphonically, like a gentle current of air. Wind-like melodies and ethereal textures glide and twirl in punctuated cycles, ascending through shifting harmonic plateaus with fluidity, strength, and eloquence. Both expansive and intimate, the track balances turbulence and stillness, evoking the exhilaration of flight. With its hypnotic presence and melange of electronic and acoustic elements, “Daze” invites listeners into a deeply expressive and weightless world making it a seamless entry point into the deeply expressive landscape of the upcoming project.
From Where You Came comes out Friday, May 09, 2025 release via Envision Records (Canada) and Smalltown Supersound (ROW).
